Pentel P205M Sharp Limited Edition Mechanical Pencil

The Pentel P205M Sharp Limited Edition has been available from the Pentel USA online store for a fair while now, and a few months ago I finally weakened and handed over the dosh for some pencils. I had held off from buying them because I didn’t think I’d like their colour scheme, and now that I’ve got them, I was right. Camouflage isn’t really my sort of colour scheme. They are all a bit dull really. Still, if you are a Pentel person then you sort of have to get them.

Shown below are the three different colours I bought, plus a standard black P205. There is also a red P205M, but I didn't purchase that one.

Great post and I do like the pencil. I have the blue Limited Edition one down in the supply room.

I was not aware of those. Though the "marble" look is not something I care for either. Funny, for all of the Pentel mechanical pencils in my collection I do not think I currently count a 205 among them. I gave them away after switching primarily to the Graph 1000.

They have a nice profile to them. Not quite the Lamy 2000 but still OK. How do they write?

Howdy Che. Actually I didn't make it explicitly clear in the posting, but the P205M Limited Edition is only a colour variation on the standard P205 Sharp, so absolutely no difference in writing with it. Despite having removed the P205 from the Top 5, its still a great pencil and writes well, perhaps not 2000 well, but...

Does anyone know what the difference is between the PS315 Pentel and this one? They look identical...

They are very similar, lot of common components. PS315 has a semi-retractable sliding sleeve rather than the fixed sleeve of the P205.

I have two PS315s which cost about 10.00 on the pentel website but the P205s are about half 6.00 of that the thing is with the PS315 the sleave doesn't retract all the way just partial way which is kinda silly.
Thinking of picking up some P205s I just found out they work good for detail.

Alright finally picked up some P205 actually alot of them =) picked up some on ebay and greens ones on Amazon and picked up some 9.00 for two of them at Office Max. Also picked up some Office Max clones of the P205 that say Office Max on the side and where the Made in Japan is listed it's blank. Also which comes with some very brittle lead.

The Office Max clones are pretty bad
but the P205s are almost similar to the PS315 except the sleeve is about a mm shorter.

These will work out good for details they work at 360s degrees because of the lightness of the pencil.

But if you want to see something funny go the the review of the P205 7 9 series at Leadholder.com

Can someone tell me why there is no longer a pin in the Pentel Eraser (the one to clear jams).

Perhaps because graphite jam is a very rare thing (I never had one in over 25 years of use in many, many MP pencils) and it can be a hazard if you have kids around the house I guess.

How does the graphite jam in the first place, I do not see it.
