It’s finally happened, I’ve joined the real world and upgraded to broadband internet access. Yes all this time I’ve been running this blog and surfing the net on dial-up access. Having written a typical mechanical pencil review in MS Word it’s then usually 30 to 60 minutes to upload it to Blogger and paste in the photos. Hopefully speedy internet will halve that. Of course the (so called) broadband speed I have, and the price I pay, would get my ISP prosecuted for fraud and racketeering in most countries, but that’s they way things are down here.
At a time like this it’s good to keep ones feet on the ground and recall where it all started. Just in case you haven’t already seen this, here’s the oldest known pencil in existence.

That's a great image, and I hadn't seen it, thanks.
I'm astounded that you've done all this on a dial-up connection. Hats off to you, and welcome the world of Too Much Internet.
An great blog at dial-up speeds. Looking forward to the broadband future.
whoa!!! dial up, and you were loading pictures? yikes!! i remember those days well my son. you are now on the way to being a jedi.....
I uploaded my next review to publish - just under 10 minutes to get it all finished. A lot better than the old 30 to 60. Just what will I do with all this spare time?
Buy more mechanical pencils! :-D
