A Colour or Two
Some of the research material in my search for good blue and other coloured leads.
Note the 8 different colours of Pilot Eno Color at the bottom of the photo.
Great variety, indeed. I currently use Faber-Castell TK-Color leads and I don't feel very comfortable writing with them nor they erase completely (at least using Staedtler Mars Plastic). It would be very interesting to know if there is a coloured lead that is both easy to write with and easily erased?
For the record, I dug through my Art Bin today and came up with two tubes of Staedtler 0.5mm Non-Repro Blue leads, and the product number on the tubes is "25830 05". We apparently used to sell these for $1.65/tube (that would have been in the early to mid 1990's). I did not, however, come up with any of the 2mm Non-Repro leads I thought I had.
Unfortunately, coloured leads are scarce here (Poland). Only Faber-Castell and Staedtler blue, red and green are readily available and I wasn't able to locate other makes as -ish or Pilot yet. I might try cultpens.com someday, though.
For the record, I tried a mix of 6 colours of UNI COLOR by Mitsubishi (similar to those you reviewed just without -ish in the name) and I am extremely pleased - they do write OK and are completely eraseable using Staedtler Mars Plastic eraser.
