Aaarrrrgggh…
It’s been gnawing away at me for ages. Just how many of you are there? These days my Sitemeter records 11 or 12 thousand hits per month for this blog, but most of these hits are just simple Google searches. My Blogger profile view counter is over 2,100. Anyway, shades of narcissism if you like, but I’d really like to know how many pencil folk there are out there, how many “regular readers”? So, time for a Poll, “How often do you read this blog?” I’ll leave it up to you to self-describe whether you are a frequent or occasional reader.
Sorry, no voting button for just plain old “No”.
6 frequent so far! Surely that can't be representative. Must be loads out there who haven't used the poll yet. This is the only proper place on the web covering propelling pencils that I know of.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, thanks Dave for your efforts! Always a pleasure to see what new you have found to test.
Cheers,
Max
I check several times a week.
ReplyDeletemax: I have a blog dedicated to mechanical/propelling pencils. not as in depth as Davids here, but not insignificant. :)
Come on on everybody, respond!!!
Occasional readers probably don't respond to polls as frequently as frequent readers ;)
ReplyDeleteHey. Thanks Germ! That is one impressive collection you've got there. How long has it taken you to collect them all?
ReplyDeleteYour blog is a very welcome addition to my bookmarks. Thanks again!
Max
As one of the other mechanical pencil maniacs ;-) I am a regular reader too (although my current workload and some other challenges have kept me away recently).
ReplyDeleteKeep it up, David, and many thanks for sharing your extensive knowledge!
Hello! I´m a very frecuent reader... Very good blog!!! I´m from Argentina and I have a small industrial design company. I have a couple of mechanical pencils designed. martrod@gmail.com is my e-mail. If you want to see some pics of my designs, write me!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is right up there with the weather report for me - a regular required visit that I enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI also have the comments feed bookmarked, as I notice that older posts often continue to get interesting feedback.
I check my RSS reader 3 or 4 times a day and will visit Dave's blog the moment I notice that there's a new post. Of course I still have a little catching up to do on my reading, so I visit in between posts to read some of the earlier work when I have time.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely a frequent reader. Keep up the great reviews!
ReplyDeleteI check in about twice a week. Haven't been collecting very long so have a lot to learn. Just starting to put a few pencils up on a blog, but have a long way to go before I get to your standard.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog, thank you.
Your blog is on my RSS feed, which I check 3 or 4 times a day. If there's something new, I'm on it straight away.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately for me my pencil collection stayed in Sydney when I moved to Philadelphia, but I've got a nice second collection going.
Yes, I am a frequent reader. keep up the good work!!
ReplyDeleteHello Dave,
ReplyDeleteI am from Greece. I collect pencils for the past 3 years and my collection is growing fast.
I check your blog almost daily and I find it a real inspiration. Actually when I want to buy a new pencil I check with your blog first.
I plan to make a blog about pencils but I have to find the time for it.
Keep up!!!.
Akis
i also check it several times a week - i also recognized that i am in a very luxury situation, i live in germany, there are 'many' pencils to buy
ReplyDeleteFrequent reader here. I've been collecting for a few years. But after discovering Dave's, Gunthers and Germs respective sites, my obsession/pace has really begun to pick up. So much eye candy and excellent information.
ReplyDeletei've checked your blog about once a week, for just over a year now
ReplyDeleteOnce a fortnight. No, I'm not English. I just like that word. From USA.
ReplyDeleteAt the minimum, once weekly. I love your blog. I look forward to your reviews. You are doing an excellent job. Thank you! From USA.
ReplyDeleteHi Dave,
ReplyDeleteI check the blog 4-5 times weekly and have purchased my last two pencils as a result of your reviews (both Pentel and both excellent). Not an avid collector...just a finance weenie in California with a love for the more technically oriented pencils (goes back to my drafting class days in college). Great blog! Keep up the good work.
On average once a week, but occasionally a few times a week. So does that make me a frequent or occasional reader?
ReplyDeleteEither way thanks for all the hard work you continue to put into this!
Glen
Hi Dave!
ReplyDeleteI'm also a frequent reader, I visit your site normally several times per week. I have read all your reviews, thank you for your effort in keeping us all informed.
Regards,
Ovidiu
Hi Dave,
ReplyDeleteI voted frequently as I usually check in everytday just to see what new kind of nonsense you can come up with, like: "Pencils as a bizarre link between unrelated thngs".:) I guess I'm one of "the couple of hundred MP junkies out there, to one degree of enthusiasm or another". Love the blog keep up the good work.
my best
Henrik
Have you in my Favorites - probably stop by 3 - 4 times a week for a quick check. Generally interested in those who keep the interest in pens and pencils alive in this techhy age.
ReplyDeleteI missed this poll, so sorry for the long delay, and yes, I read your blog!! You are in my fav's! I'm in the US, if you are keeping track of that, too.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I am currently using a Papermate Titanium, a nice thin, retractable-tip .5mm with long eraser. A bit more tip wobble than I like, but, otherwise AOK.
Keep up the great pencil reviews!!
