You push the button, the jaws open and the lead is free to move it or out. The mechanism just holds the lead, it does not advance it. So I guess I have to find out about this clutch type mechanism... They are not clutch pencils like most 2mm leadholders.<br />I guess thats what Rotring mean about innovative, etc. A bit of advertising puffery.<br /><br />Well, at least thats how I remember it.
